Dedicated to my dear friend, Kristine Harris, I wrote this when we were undergrads together at William Jewell College. This was my first instrumental solo composition. I can remember being inspired by the sonatas of both Paul Hindemith and Halsey Stevens when I began writing this piece. The second movement is an exact retrograde (mirror image) of itself, and it is still my favorite part of the entire piece.
Movement I: Il Vaggio (They Voyage)
Movement II: Specchio (Mirror)
Movement III: Scherzo (Light, Humorous)
